Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, which is designed to prevent the so-called e-mail spoofing where an email message can be sent from one e-mail address, but to appear as being sent from another, often with the idea to fraud the recipient in some way. If SPF protection is enabled for a domain, a special record is made for it in the Domain Name System and all of the DNS servers globally get it. The record features all mail servers that are allowed to send legitimate messages from an e-mail address under the domain. When an e-mail is sent, the first DNS server it goes to checks the SPF record and when the sending server is authorized, the message is sent to the targeted destination. In case, however, the sending server is not included in the SPF record for the specified domain, the message won't be submitted and it'll be discarded. Whenever you employ this solution, it will prevent third parties from sending spam messages which appear to have been sent by you.

SPF Protection in Website Hosting

You can enable the SPF protection service for your domains with a couple of clicks in the Hepsia Control Panel, which is provided with our website hosting. This is done via the section bearing an identical name and you'll be able to set up the protection for any domain hosted on our exceptional cloud hosting platform. Using a very handy interface, all you'll need to submit is the hostname of the mail server that will be authorized to send out messages from your e-mails and its IPv4 or IPv6 address. Last, but not least, you can add several servers too, when needed. In case your e-mail addresses are managed on our end, you may also employ an even more risk-free option by putting a restriction that e-mails can be sent only when your domain names feature our MX records. This solution can't be applied if your website is hosted with us, and the email addresses are with a third-party provider. In either case, the SPF protection solution can greatly enhance your online security and prevent other people from counterfeiting your e-mail addresses.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

The SPF protection function is available with all Linux semi-dedicated servers, so when you host your domain names in an account on our cloud hosting platform, you can use the service easily for all your domains. The Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with the semi-dedicated accounts, offers a really intuitive interface, therefore you won't need to be proficient in the use of computers to secure your email addresses. You will only have to type the hostname and the IP of each mail server that you'd like to be authorized to send out e-mails from your addresses and right after that the new record will be active for the domain that you have chosen. As an additional option, we also give you the ability to limit the outgoing emails and protect your mailboxes further by permitting messages to be sent only when the domain involved features our MX records i.e. the email messages for the domain have to be managed on our end and not by another provider. By doing so you will enjoy even better control and there won't be a chance for someone to counterfeit your emails for harmful purposes.
